Thursday, 17th February 2022. After MoU was signed by Dr. Triseu Setianingsih, SKM., MKM. from UMS and Ir. Prof. Dr. Ewe Hong Tat from UTAR. UMS and UTAR also present International Webinar, with the theme Traditional Medicine Health Care For Covid 19, with two incredible speakers from both institutions, Dr. Te Kian Kiong from UTAR, and Dr. William Adi Teja, B.Med., PhD. from UMS, with our keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Ir. Suhariningsih. Both speakers highlighted the importance of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for the treatment of Covid 19, and Prof. Suhariningsih as the Head of Indonesia Traditional Health Higher Education Association hopes that traditional medicine research and development will thrive in Indonesia.
In Dr. Te’s presentation session, we discuss about the levels of Covid 19 symptoms, from asymptomatic, symptomatic with no pneumonia, and symptomatic with pneumonia, and all of this conditions can improve by consuming herbal drink and a combination of traditional medicine to manage fever, sore throat and other symptoms of Covid 19. Studies also shows that there are improvementes for Covid 19 patient condition.
In Dr. William’s presentation session, we discuss about a book that explains about febrile disease (Wen Bing). In this book, it has been said that pathogenic heat can occur as a result of the imbalance of yin and yang, and those pathogens can enter a human body through mouth and nose. This pathogenic heat cause illness to the internal organs, especially the lungs, and the effect can influence the function of other organs, such as heart, pancreas, and kidney. Consuming vitamins and other supplements might not be the right treatment, because the principles of traditional chinese medicine is about the balance of the body. So one may need to see a traditional chinese therapist to assess what medicine or supplement one must need to consume to achieve better health.
At the Q and A session, participants of this webinar is very eager to learn more about the Traditional Chinese Medicine. And all participants hope that the regulations in Indonesia will support the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the future.
